The recall affects the IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL garlic press (article number 305.781.89) sold from March 2024 through May 2025 for about $8. The press has a black rubber handle, a zinc-coated chamber, and the IKEA logo on the upper handle. Approximately 43,830 units were sold in the U.S. and 10,700 in Canada.

The product can shed small metal pieces during use, creating a risk of cuts or splinters and potential ingestion if fragments enter food. IKEA has received 10 reports globally, including three injuries, though none have been reported in the U.S.
