Nice deal! Linked bank account must have some funds in the account so Privacy.com can put a pending charge on the account and you can confirm that amount. I have $0 balance in my Chime account and was not able to link. I was able to link another account with that has a $100 balance. Note: when the screen/dialog box comes up to "add funding" click off to the side.Refresh the page, and you will see the $5.

This is really cool. You basically create a virtual card for yourself, you can even hide where the transaction is from if you want. You'll get an initial $5 credit. You fund from another card/bank. Also, you can set limits. So for instance, I've set up mine where I can only spend $10 for ONE transaction, but i could have for example have made it $10 for all my transactions or $1000. You can make it so you can have As much or as little as you want. This is great if you do a lot of offers online like I do. You can also pause it.

The site has a lot of information, right now they are only allow funding from US checking accounts.

I'm having some trouble, it's put a hold on close to three dollars but not given me a $5 credit. It's asking me to load money but after it's withheld the testing amount I only have $2 in the linked account. What do I do?

No where in the description of this offer do you mention that Privacy will actually CHARGE my debit card (albeit temporarily) in order to verify ownership. I am highly uncomfortable with this.

@Shelly

Hi Shelly, You're right. I've added that info to the description above. Privacy doesn't charge your card; they just do an authorization to verify the card is valid which is released very quickly depending on your bank.

It still says that you have to enter your debit card onto their website in order to use the virtual card.

Yes, that's correct. Your virtual payment card(s) will need a funding source but instead of using your real debit or credit card when you checkout online, which exposes you to potential data breaches and fraudulent charges, you would use your Privacy virtual card number.
