A wild Chiltepin hot-pepper (spread out a few feet and over a foot tall) grows under my grapefruit tree.

The tree protects it from the hot summer sun.

The peppers are tiny, round or oval shaped, red to orange-red chile peppers, measuring about .8 cm in diameter.

The birds like to eat them, too, and are unaffected by the pepper heat.

They transport the seeds to other locations this way.
